It's hard to believe that summer break is almost over.

It's also hard to believe that I will have a son in 5th grade this year!

If only that saying were true...

That you could put time in a bottle.

I'm not ready for them to grow up.

Not yet...

So, I better do all I can to capture them.

One picture at a time!

Wow!
You have grown SO MUCH in your photography since we "met" ~ it's inspiring to me!
I want to be like you when I grow up. :D
Did you use a tripod when you shot these?
I'm been playing around with shooting in manual mode ~ it's quite freeing. My working my way through Understanding Exposure - I love it!
Beth, your photos just keep getting better and better. Great work.
For my dear friend Ruthie.... :D
You know how to rock my day!
No tripod. I adjusted so that my aperture was wide open at 2.8, which in turn gave me a faster shutter speed. A faster shutter speed means less camera shake.
If your shutter speed is equivalent to your focal length (meaning if your zoom is set to 50mm then your shutter speed should be around the same or higher)or larger, you should be okay.
HTH,
Beth
I love the colors in all these pictures! And your boys' expressions are priceless.
Awesome photos! My Tara is starting to not want to be the subject of my photos!
Awh...I'm so glad you are capturing your precious boys. Trust me, they grow up WAY to fast....so you need to soak in EVERY minute!
I love that they pose for you. :) I hope sugar will when she is bigger.
Ilove the second photo. great background. YOu have a fabulous place to shoot there. wish I was there too. :)
Oh wow! What great pictures! I love them all. But the last one is my absolute favorite. I love the expression on his face. Outstanding job my friend!
It goes by way too fast, doesn't it Beth? It's wonderful that you are capturing them so beautifully right now. :)
These are great Beth, the compositions and colors just go great with the boys.

Beth! These are all Fab-U-Lous! My favorites are the second and third.. Love them. You have conquered manual I would say :) Nice work. Is this old building near where you live?? What a great area to shoot. The second shot with the teal in the door with rust... LOVE it :)
We Sooo need to get together :)

I love the colors on these. The old warehouse bricks make such a nice background. Hmmm...there is an old citrus packing facility near here, closed until November...even with my little camera, pics there might turn out kinda cool...
Hi Beth,
Nice blog! I especially love your rotating header -- that is so cool.
The 3rd and 4th pictures are my absolute favorite. Great color composition!
Wow. I wonder if I could get my boys to cooperate. (doubtful).
*drool* I LOVE these! I. want. your. backgrounds!! I have got to find something in my area. Katrina took away most everything interesting. Guess I'm going to just have to get out there and dig around. ;)
Your work is inspiring!! ROCK THAT CAMERA GIRLIE!
Your boys are my favorite : ) So fun. So full of personality. I know what you mean about the time flying. It freaks me out a little bit. Or a lot. I have been crying at the drop of a hat.
Love them! My girl is watching over my shoulder & for once, is speechless! Yep, time starts flying, as the cliche says, hubby says it's because we've already lived a few years. My big boy is looking at COLLEGES!!!!!!! ARRRRGGGGGHHH. Rainy
Oh Beth, these brought me to tears...you have such a beautiful way of capturing the life of your boys.
Oh, my! They are absolutely handsome young men... I mean boys :) Such stunning pictures! Such great moments to capture! It really does go by too fast!
